After releasing an eponymous solo album “Memory Lane” in 2023, Damien Elcock a.k.a. Luke Warmcop (Phat Dat, Guess What, Orchestre du Montplaisant) enrols Pauline Le Caignec (Kcidy), Sandrine Boget (Amazigh) and Graham Mushnik (Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek) into the magical and fascinating world of his compositions, to give them a collective dimension and develop the project as a real live outfit.

Memory Lane play danceable grooves, often using unusual time signatures and melodic structures that take the listener away from classic “pop” forms, hinting at spiritual jazz, Andine folk music... Many will connect their style to rather unclassified artists like Moondog, Mort Garson, Broadcast or Bruce Haack. Warmcop's songs talk of love, death, Egyptian myths, braver topics such as ageing - or philosophical considerations on the human condition, often linked to higher forces, may they be natural or spiritual.

Memory Lane's unconventional line-up (double-bass, trumpet, organ, drums, percussion and vocals), as well as their many musical and literary references, make the band unique and peculiar, hard to pin down. With their strong identity and their quirky live performances, they are one of these special artistic outfits that deserve to grow in one’s heart.
